In computer security, shoulder surfing refers to using direct observation techniques, such as looking over someone's shoulder, to get information. Shoulder surfing is particularly effective in crowded places because it is relatively easy to observe someone as they: fill out a form; enter their PIN at an POS terminal, etc.

在計(jì)算機(jī)安全領(lǐng)域，肩窺（shoulder surfing）指（站在別人身后）越過(guò)肩膀探看別人操作獲取信息的做法。這種方式在填表、在POS機(jī)上輸密碼等人多擁擠的場(chǎng)合更為適用。

Shoulder surfing might also have another meaning. You know when you are at a party, talking to someone, and they don’t seem to be very interested in your conversation? They seem to be constantly looking over your shoulder, trying to find someone more interesting or attractive to talk to. Well – some people call this shoulder surfing too!

“肩窺”還有另一層意思。說(shuō)的是，在聚會(huì)上，你正跟一個(gè)人說(shuō)著話，而對(duì)方似乎對(duì)你們的談話并沒(méi)有興趣，所以眼神越過(guò)你的肩膀，試圖搜尋別的更有趣或?qū)ζ涓形Φ牧奶鞂?duì)象。人們把這種情況也叫做“肩窺（shoulder surfing）”。
